Rebuild Puerto Rico Contracting Initiative

Justice for Puerto Rico Recovery - Advocacy and Resistance

Posted February 4, 2018

Your support will have a direct impact on Puerto Rico’s recovery. FEMA has awarded over $1 billion in contracts to the private sector for the delivery of life sustaining resources like food, water, medicine, and shelter. However, the majority of these funds have been awarded to companies with little or no experience in disaster aid or the unique challenges of serving Puerto Rico.

We are seeking immediate assistance from attorneys with experience in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). For volunteers without FAR experience we can provide mentorship by top national experts.

Volunteers will be paired with qualified companies in Puerto Rico that are ready, willing, and able to compete, but lack expertise in the Federal contracting process. Engagements are short term (2-4 hrs). Bilingual/Spanish language preferred, but not mandatory.

Rebuild Puerto Rico Contracting Initiative

FEMA has awarded over $1 billion in contracts to the private sector for the delivery of life sustaining resources like food, water, medicine, and shelter. However, the majority of these funds have been awarded to companies with little or no experience in disaster aid or the unique challenges of serving Puerto Rico. As a result, aid is not reaching people in need. Our team has developed a strategy to ensure FEMA contracts deliver results -- and small business in Puerto Rico has a chance to have a leading role in recovery.
