Center for Secure and Modern Elections
State Tracking for Digital Resource on Elections and COVID-19
We will reach voters in all 56 states and voting territories with the information they need to vote safely and help ensure elections can go on smoothly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Posted March 25, 2020
A nonpartisan team of online organizers, funded by the Center for Secure and Modern Elections, is building a 50-state digital resource center to help ensure the secure functioning of the 2020 elections in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic called WeCanVote.org.
The resource center will feature common-sense steps every person can take to help safeguard our elections and protect the right of every eligible American to vote. We will share the latest updates to state and local rules, including options that allow voters to cast their ballots in the way that’s best and healthiest for them.
In the weeks ahead, we will highlight best practices, success stories, and nonpartisan advocacy actions throughout the country. At a time when governments are responding rapidly and with different strategies to the pandemic, the resource center will serve as a centralized source of reliable information and opportunities for positive action, no matter where you live or vote.
Volunteers on this project will be assigned 2-3 states to track: news and updates regarding changes to voting laws in their states, advocacy actions, and generally how election officials and state groups are helping to prepare for the 2020 elections.
