DJs at the Polls
GOTV in underserved urban communities by making Election Day a celebration of Democracy
Posted March 25, 2024
Background & Context
DJs at the Polls is expanding on an existing program, bringing DJs to polling sites in underserved communities to encourage voting and reinforce our Democracy. We are targeting communities that are often overlooked, in the hopes of engaging them in the democratic process. Our RCTs showed a 3% increase in voter turnout where our activations were deployed.
Immediate Problem
We need to be scrupulous in both our adherence to electioneering laws and noise ordinances, and our compliance with 501c3 regulations.
Work & Deliverables
Review front facing materials to make sure we are fully compliant with state electioneering laws
Advise on 501c3 compliance
Troubleshoot on election Day 2024 as needed
Preparation Phase
- Schedule a background call/Meet with Team Leadership
Collaboration Phase
- Review public-facing materials
- Make recommendations for 501c3 compliance.
- Provide "hotline" support on election day should problems arise.
- provide interpretations of electioneering laws as applicable
Wrap Up
- complete final check in with DJs contact
