Rock the Vote
Explainers to help young people understand voting policies
Posted April 11, 2019
Rock the Vote is looking for volunteers to create short policy write-ups and explainers on voting & elections policies that could affect young people (approx. 300-700 words), which would be published on Rock the Vote's blog and shared with its audience via email and social media.
Desired topics include:
- The Electoral College & National Popular Vote Compact
- Lowering the voting age to 16/17
- Gerrymandering & redistricting
- 2020 Census
- 2020 presidential primaries
- Ballot initiatives
Our goal is to distill complex policy information into easily understandable content for Rock the Vote's audience, which is comprised of young and new voters who may be unfamiliar with the voting process. Content should be written at or near an 8th-10th reading comprehension level.
