Signed By Stories
Signed By Stories aims to promote awareness of the challenges and experiences endured by deaf people seeking mental health support. This platform will educate about the ramifications of the linguistic and communication barriers they often face. "Signed By" symbolizes a deaf person's unique signature, “signed” via their preferred communication mode. "Stories'' encapsulates the practice of Deaf cultural storytelling while promoting deaf mental wellness. The platform plans to feature several content themes, headed by personal story videos, and will expose the dearth in culturally and linguistically competent mental health services for deaf people. Deaf viewers will also be welcomed to share their own signature stories, amplifying the lived experiences of intersectional deaf groups. The website component will educate deaf and hearing viewers about various mental health topics and ways to create culturally inclusive and linguistically accessible environments for deaf people.
